The basis of this TFG has been the reorganization of the functions of the rehabilitation unit of the Psychiatric Hospital of Zamudio in a new building, taking into account the state and deficiencies of the current building.
Previously, a study of psychiatric hospitals and other building typologies has been carried out in order to create a hospital that incorporates new requirements.
Consequently, the objective was to design a building that would help patients live in the most dignified and healthy way possible, seeking their well-being and safety, based on innovative psychiatric foundations. Architecture and spaces have been considered as part of the healing process.
The Bizkaia Technology Park and the rural lands of Zamudio surround this 90,000 m² plot of the hospital.
