This research aims to reflect on the role of school buildings and the role of education. It must be understood that, in the new model of post-industrial education, school spaces have become a welcoming environment for children. Therefore, the role they play as a continuation of each child’s home will be explored. It should be borne in mind that improving the role of schools in reception in educational settings requires reinforcing the inclusive nature of schools, while ensuring universal accessibility. All this by rethinking the spatial response that education must provide to diversity.
It is proposed to structure the research by combining two main routes. The first route has tried to define a theoretical framework, taking into account local and global perspectives; and creating a map of the opinions that individuals, experts and agents from different disciplines have on the educational space. The second route, on the other hand, is more practical and is based on the field of work. In the latter, with the aim of getting closer to its reality, work has been done in collaboration with the educational centers of Navarre. An observer role will be played in the spatial transformation processes initiated in schools, investigating the evolution of the process and documenting and advising on creative processes.
