10 sites located between the provinces of Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa and Navarra (Azpeitia, Bermeo, Donostia, Durango, Gernika, Hondarribia, Markina, Ordizia, Puentelarreina, Roncal) have been studied in detail.
With the help of the students’ work, the urban fit and the specific configuration of each of the sites have been studied in detail. Comparative cartographies of the current and reconstructed states in the 18th century have been made, all at the same scale and with the same graphism. Likewise, a colored axonometry has been carried out for each municipality and avenue in order to clearly disclose the original state of these spaces.
All these works will be exhibited in the exhibition scheduled for February next year in Sangüesa, understood as a prelude to the final exhibition scheduled for the 2021 Architecture Biennale. Taking advantage of the occasion, aid funds have been used to prepare and print the panels of the sites studied so far, which will be exhibited in Sangüesa within the context of the urban project carried out by Santos Ángel de Ochandategui for the town. In collaboration with Fablab Donostia, two models are being finalized that will be part of both exhibitions. Likewise, the results obtained so far will be published in the international journal Journal of Traditional Architecture and Urbanism and presented at the “Architecture and Community” Congress that will take place precisely this Friday, November 13 in Madrid.
