Work tries to respond and accompany in the process those technicians in charge of projecting and prescribing in wood, covering several objectives:
– The process of designing in wood is a great challenge to face together with industrialists and product designers, that is why it is necessary for the architect to have the necessary tools to define the building in an exhaustive way at the moment in which the project leaves the studio of architecture. This work aims to help designers to have tools that allow them to successfully face a design that can reduce their carbon footprint by applying alternative construction and structural methods adapted to wood material, eliminating unnecessary structural elements.
– Carry out a study of existing success stories at the local, state and international level documented with real data on terms, volume and cost of the execution of industrialized wood structures in high-rise collective housing buildings that allows their comparison with the works data with the most common systems in the construction market (concrete and steel structures).
– State and quantify the virtues and limitations of structural systems for tall buildings in wood (cross-laminated wood panels and light framework), describe their possible combinations and interactions with other structural systems or materials and with other building elements such as facades, cores , global geometry, etc.
– Establish guidelines for the optimal and viable achievement of future public promotions of endowment housing with said systems.
